Graffiti Case Study
While I was building out the environment for Hideaway Harbor, I wanted graffiti to be a large part of the environment’s visual appeal. Since Hideaway Harbor is built upon a city block in Tacoma, Washington, I did some research into the different styles of graffiti found within the area. Then, I started to draw my own graffiti tags in Procreate. Using Substance Painter, I imported a shipping container model I had created in Maya, added textures to the model, and strategically placed the PNGs I had drawn onto the faces of the container. Some of the graffiti tags are repeated throughout the game environment.
