4Cast
4Cast is a fictional drink company that sells seasonal health drinks. The purpose of each drink is to restore vitamin deficiencies that people suffer from as the seasons change. 4Cast makes four different drinks, one for each of the four seasons.
Each drink is meant to supply you with vitamins and nutrients that you are deficient in during each season to help you stay healthy. The fall and winter drinks have vitamin D and C to boost immune support, increase bone health, and imporve your overall mood. The spring drink has omega 3 and honey to help combat season allergies. The summer drink is rich in electrolytes to keep you hydrated in the summer heat.
Branding
I was inspired by retro designs and color palettes, so I chose bright and high-contrast colors to represent the brand. I assigned each of the 4 seasons a color; fall is orange, winter is blue, spring is pink, and summer is yellow.
The main 4Cast logo is made up of four lines, each of the lines is a different color to represent each of the four seasons. There are four different variations of the logo where all lines are the same color. Here, the color of the logo is representing a specific season, but the idea of four seasons is still conveyed through the four lines.
The four lines from the logo are used consistently throughout my designs to create my brand identity. My goal for this project was to make my packaging, advertisements, and merch all identifiable, through the use of the four lines in my designs.
Packaging Design
Since 4Cast is an environmentally friendly company, our drink comes in a carton. The 4Cast logo is enlarged to wrap around the box, making the drink easy to find on the shelves.
Each drink has similar packaging, but different colors are used to differentiate between the four drinks. The four different seasons are also represented by iconography on the side of the box. Each season has a different icon, and these icons also make up the brand’s identity.
Imagery
When pairing my logo with still images, I chose to lean into the dreariness that people feel as the seasons change. Combined with the company’s slogan, “Seasons change, you don’t”, this conveys to potential consumers that drinking 4Cast will make you feel happy and healthy instead of suffering from seasonal depression.
Merch
When creating merchandise, I utilized the recognizable features such as the four stripes, and the four season icons to stay consistent with the 4Cast brand. My goal was to make the
merchandise recognizable without needing to include the name “4Cast”.
